Novelon Tablet is used as an oral contraception for prevention of pregnancy. Novelon Tablet medicine works by preventing the process of ovulation and also affects sperm movement in the womb and inhibits its union with the egg. Novelon Tablet medicine should not be consumed by patients below 18 years of age due to risks associated with it.
The dosage of Novelon Tablet medicine should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food but make sure you consume it at fixed time. Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during the course of Novelon Tablet medicine as it may lead to certain side effects.

How to Use Novelon Tablet

The first day of your menstrual cycle, or as otherwise prescribed by your healthcare professional, is when you should start taking Novelon Tablet. Every day, at the same time, take one pill; preferably with a meal or as directed.
The bag contains 21 tablets, each of which is labelled with a particular day of the week. Once you’ve consumed all 21 tablets, take them in the order listed on the blister pack. Menstrual cycle: Following the completion of all 21 tablets, you will have a 7-day tablet-free period. During this time, you may suffer withdrawal bleeding that resembles a menstrual cycle.
Start of the subsequent pack: On the eighth day, even if bleeding persists, start the subsequent pack of Novelon Tablet. For the contraceptive to remain effective, the fresh pack must begin on schedule.
Missed tablets: For advice if you forget to take a tablet, consult the box insert or your doctor. Depending on how many tablets were missed and when they were missing, the instructions will specify the next steps to be taken. In some circumstances, additional contraceptive methods or emergency contraception may be required.

Side Effects

Some people may have minor nausea, particularly in the beginning phases of treatment. The tablet should be taken with food or before night to aid with this problem.

Breast Sensitivity: Breast sensitivity or tenderness may appear, although it normally passes quickly within a few weeks.
