Herpex 5% Cream should only be used on the outside of the body and should be applied directly to the areas of the skin that are infected. Before applying the cream, it is important to thoroughly wash your hands and clean the affected area with a gentle soap and water. This should be done before you apply the cream. Using a clean towel, pat the area dry in a gentle manner. Apply a very thin layer of cream to the affected area by rubbing it in gently with a clean finger or a cotton swab until the cream is completely absorbed. It is recommended that the cream be applied to the affected area approximately once every four hours, five times per day, for a total of four days. Even if the symptoms improve, it is imperative to finish the full course of treatment as directed by the doctor in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.
