Cipro is an antimicrobial drug that has a broad-spectrum antibacterial action. This antibiotic is effective against most gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic bacteria. Cipro exerts a bactericidal effect on the microbial cell both at rest and during its growth. Bacterial resistance to the antibiotic develops slowly, largely during gene mutation, which reduces the permeability of the cell membrane of microorganism.

Cipro antibiotic is prescribed for children, adults and elderly patients for the treatment of:

urinary tract infections

bone and joint infections

intra-abdominal infections

genital infections

upper respiratory tract infections

lower respiratory tract infections

skin and skin structure infections

The maximum concentration of the antibiotic in the blood is reached within 1-1.5 hours when taken orally. Food intake does not almost affect the antibiotic absorption and its bioavailability.

Missed dose
