How it Works

Methoxsalen, the active ingredient in Melanocyl, works by sensitizing the skin to ultraviolet light, particularly UVA radiation. When the skin is exposed to UVA light after administration of it, it reacts with the medication to produce changes in the skin cells. These changes help to repigment the skin in conditions like vitiligo and reduce the abnormal growth and inflammation associated with psoriasis.
